The Campfire and the Conclave
A smoked, barrel-aged Manhattan — the open room everyone gathers around and the off-the-record talk after the fire dies down
One format is the campfire everyone gathers around. The other is the conversation after the fire dies down.
Why this cocktail? The campfire and the conclave — the open room and the quiet talk after. This smoked, barrel-aged Manhattan holds both.
The Story
Mason runs two opposite gatherings on the same belief: the Annual Meeting is the broad open room, five thousand strong with an opening concert; the CEO Conclave is by-invitation, deliberately small, high-trust and off the record. One is the campfire everyone gathers around; the other is the conversation that happens when only the people who need to say something difficult are still sitting there. This smoked, barrel-aged Manhattan is both at once — a curl of smoke for the fire everyone sees, deep barrel warmth for the quiet talk after it dies down, because the condition of the room determines what is possible inside it.
