The Wow Factor
A theatrical smoked-cinnamon bourbon flip with a flamed garnish — the spectacle that turned out to be strategy, not decoration
Competitors watched Connect pour money into spectacle and asked what on earth they were doing. Then the rooms filled.
Why this cocktail? The wow was strategy, not decoration. This smoked, flamed, photographable drink manufactures the conversations that sell.
The Story
The wow was never vanity spend. A memorable experience manufactures the two conversations that sell a show — the attendee telling a peer, the sponsor telling a market. For a while it looked like indulgence; then the rooms filled and the sponsors renewed and everyone else started chasing it. This theatrical cocktail — a smoked-cinnamon bourbon flip finished with a flamed garnish and a curl of aromatic smoke — is that lesson in a glass: the show people photograph, talk about, and remember, doing the word-of-mouth work no rate sheet ever could.
