The Forty-Nine, Eight
A 1" demitasse spoon of warm chestnut velouté with a single hazelnut — the connection nobody designs for
Forty-nine percent of attendees come for connection. Eight percent of planners design for it.
Why this bite? 49% come for connection; 8% design for it. This single warm spoonful is the gap he spent a career closing.
The Story
The largest disconnect any events research surfaced this year came from the man raised by two psychoanalysts, who has been doing depth analysis on a trade since he was the heavy, introverted boy nobody made room for. The 49/8 finding is the industry confessing, in research form, what he has known by experience since fourteen: the gatherings were built for the people already coming, not for the ones who needed them most. This single warm spoonful — chestnut for the south, a lone hazelnut for the one who stood at the edge — is connection finally designed for.
