    Soft Power

Two 1" bites — one savory, one sweet — set on a single place card so no one can take one without meeting the other

"That's called soft power," I told her mid-interview, and she recognized it instantly. Her staff read every guest email for a stray detail worth acting on — a daughter's graduation, a delayed flight — so that when someone shows up, the room already seems to know them.

Why this bite? Serendipity is engineered. Two bites on one card force the conversation she'd have planned anyway.

    The Story

The moment that feels like serendipity, two strangers deep in conversation at two in the morning, was engineered hours earlier by whoever decided where the bar would go and who would be standing near whom. So this is served as a pair on one card: a whipped-ricotta savory and a honeyed sweet, deliberately impossible to claim alone. Somebody has to reach at the same time you do. That is the whole trick.
