The Barbell
Mezcal & sherry split base with almost no modifiers — two intense ends, nothing in the middle
Content on one side, sales on the other. Thinness in between.
Why this cocktail? Jacob's barbell: heavy ends, thin middle. This split mezcal-sherry pour is the operating model in a glass.
The Story
Jacob's barbell thesis: heavy on either end, thin in the middle, no associate-director layer to defend. This split-base cocktail is the org chart you can drink. Smoky mezcal at one end, dry oloroso sherry at the other, joined only by a whisper of saline and a single drop of orange bitters. Nothing in the middle does management work. The two ends carry the entire flavor.
