Start Talking Earlier
A zero-proof verjus and chamomile spritz, made to be poured in the rehearsal hall long before the budget hardens
The single most common piece of advice his customer and operations teams give is the least technical one available: start talking earlier. "It forces a whole bunch of conversations around what are we actually trying to do."
Why this cocktail? Rehearsal is where clarity happens. Zero proof, high acidity — a drink for the early conversation.
The Story
Most organizations arrive at their event with every important decision already frozen, and he does not hedge about it — rehearsal is a forcing function for clarity, not a production line item, even though clarity is an awkward thing for a company that bills rooms by the hour to recommend. This is the drink for that early meeting: no proof at all, so the conversation stays sharp, verjus for the acidity a real planning session needs, and chamomile so nobody gets defensive.
