Little Control Freak Baby
Canadian rye stirred exactly fifty turns, one clear block, one exact lemon twist — and a backup twist beside the glass
"I think I was a little control freak baby. I needed to be in control of everything. It was all about control." The youngest of five, a natural worrier for whom backup plans were, in her word, her game.
Why this cocktail? A self-described control freak baby. Exact spec, exact garnish, and a spare in reserve.
The Story
Ask her what she loves about an industry built on charisma and she does not say the people; she says the lists, the logistics, the contingency plan for the contingency plan. So this drink is specified to the turn: stirred a set number of times, poured over one flawless block, dressed with one twist cut to size — and a second twist resting on the coaster, because she has never once arrived anywhere without a backup.
