The Eleanor
Garden herb deviled egg with smoked paprika
She championed the White House kitchen garden
The Story
Eleanor Roosevelt, wife of FDR and the longest-serving First Lady, redefined the role entirely. A tireless advocate for civil rights, women's equality, and the United Nations, she also championed self-sufficiency through gardening. She planted a Victory Garden on the White House grounds during WWII and encouraged Americans to grow their own food. These herb-filled deviled eggs — simple, nourishing, and garden-fresh — reflect her belief that good food starts close to home.
