The Magic Seventeen
A theatrical clarified milk punch that arrives clear then blooms with color — seventeen minutes of material that held a frightened room
An audience which has every rational reason to withhold its attention will give it to you if you earn it correctly.
Why this cocktail? Seventeen minutes that held a frightened room. This clear-then-blooming milk punch is attention, earned correctly.
The Story
At sixteen Colja spent his civil-service hours in German children's hospitals with a deck of cards and seventeen minutes of material, and learned the thing no management school teaches: an audience with every reason to withhold its attention will give it to you if you earn it. He learned how attention moves through a room — what holds a crowd, what loses it. This clarified milk punch is that act: it arrives deceptively clear, then blooms with color as it warms, the quiet illusion that turns out to be something genuinely given and received.
