The Camel at the Gate
A 1" harissa lamb cube on a date, dusted with rose petal — the photo nobody can walk past
BMF's Music Lounge began as a bet on dead time: the artists at Lollapalooza were only onstage for an hour, and idle talent surrounded by idle press was the most valuable unclaimed real estate at the festival. The lounge ran eleven years and moved to Coachella, where Feit once installed a live camel because no one could resist a photo next to it on the way in.
Why this bite? He put a camel at the Coachella gate before anyone said content. This is the bite guests photograph.
The Story
Facebook was still the only game and Instagram didn't exist, but he already understood that people would stop for the thing they could be seen next to. The bite works the same way — glossy, dark, unmistakably photogenic, and finished with dried rose petal, a nod to the CD packages BMF mailed to brands in 2003 wrapped in rose petals, back when a musician and a toothpaste in the same sentence got him eye-rolled.
