Cedar-planked wild salmon bite with birch syrup glaze & foraged herbs
Born on Haida Gwaii — if you wanted something, you figured out how to make it happen
Why this bite? Born on Haida Gwaii, Tahira learned resourcefulness before she learned events. Cedar-planked salmon is her origin story.
The Story
Tahira was born on Haida Gwaii, a remote archipelago off British Columbia. Her family fished. Her mother baked bread. Vegetables were grown, not bought. 'If you wanted something, you figured out how to make it happen.' This cedar-planked salmon with foraged herbs is Haida Gwaii on a plate — resourceful, wild, and rooted in a place where gathering was survival before it was a profession.
